Yes. The Information Technology Act 2000 — Section 3 (digital signature) and Section 3A (electronic signature, including Aadhaar-OTP) — confer the same legal standing on electronic signatures as on hand-signed paper. The notarisation itself is performed by a central notary appointed under the Notaries Act 1952 and recorded on notary.gov.in. Section 65B of the Indian Evidence Act covers admissibility.
Categories outside Section 8 of the Notaries Act — marriage solemnisation, divorce, talaq, property transfers requiring registration under the Registration Act 1908, will execution, and criminal affidavits that require court endorsement. Our Compliance Engine rejects these at intake with the precedent that disallows them, before reaching a notary.
We never store the 12-digit Aadhaar number. The UIDAI adapter converts it to a Virtual ID (VID) the moment it enters our system; only the VID lives in our identity table. eKYC payloads are not persisted beyond the request scope. Aadhaar appears in no log, trace, metric, or error report.
